New Eateries on the Upper East Side

Luxury living on the Upper East Side

As one of the most affluent neighborhoods in Manhattan, the Upper East Side unsurprisingly boasts some of the most outstanding restaurants in NYC. Here are some of the finest eateries that have opened within the last year.

Arlington Club Steakhouse

1032 Lexington Avenue
Don’t be fooled — the menu here is far more eclectic than your average steakhouse, featuring the likes of sushi and gnocchi as well. Is it an odd combination of dishes? Sure. But when you have a French chef and successful restaurateur Laurent Tourondel serving up the fare, it genuinely doesn’t matter. The fish and steak shine the brightest, of course, and the potatoes are masterfully done, but dining in this retro-gorgeous restaurant is a joy, regardless of what you order.

Sirio at the Pierre Hotel

2 East 61st street
Five-star hotels simply aren’t inclined to have restaurants on their premises that live up to the gold standard. No wonder then that The Pierre enlisted the world famous Sirio Maccioni and his sons to bring high-end Italian fare and oysters to the hotel’s high-end guests. Sirio’s ambiance works equally well for power lunches and romantic dinners; the food’s attention to detail is exquisite at any time of the day.

Moti Mahal Delux

1149 1st Avenue
In India and Nepal, Moti Mahal Delux is already a famous fine-dining chain, having established its first restaurant in South Delhi in 1975 and expanded to over 100 locations since then. 1149 1st Avenue is its first American outpost. There is a reason this restaurant chain is so successful – the food is at its very finest and freshest, and with the much-talked-about lunch buffet costing only $11.95, it’s a fantastic value for money.

Salumeria Rosi Parmacotto Ristorante

903 Madison Avenue
Having already built up a fine reputation for itself on the Upper West Side of NYC, the team behind Salumeria Rosi Parmacotto recently made the choice to conquer the Upper East Side as well with this new Ristorante. With renowned Tuscan chef Cesare Casella at the helm, and a menu full of wonderful traditional Italian fare with a contemporary twist, we believe Salumeria Rosi Parmacotto will be booming for years to come. Bella!

FP Patisserie

1293 3rd Avenue
Third generation French pastry chef, Francois Payard, has been combining his family’s traditional baking skills with a thirst for innovation in the world of desserts since he arrived in New York in 1990. With multiple awards under his belt, as well as branches of his bistro, Payard — thriving in Las Vegas, Japan and Korea — is also responsible for the FPB bakeries already in New York City. This latest one, on 3rd Avenue at 75th Street, is as delectable as we’ve come to expect.
